Great News! The Northeast PA Logistics & Transportation Industry Partnership has been awarded one of only five PA Career Pathway Pilot Projects in the State by the PA Department of Labor & Industry. Luzerne/Schuylkill Workforce Investment Board, Inc. receives $134,315.00 from the PA Department of Labor & Industry to implement the PA Career Pathway Pilot Project. The funding provides the next element of focus for the Northeast PA Logistics & Transportation Industry Partnership’s Career Pathway Model.

The NEPA Logistics & Transportation Industry Partnership Career Pathways Model is a collaborative tool. Employers, colleges, universities, WIB’s, chambers of commerce, technology centers, and high school/vocational school guidance departments can all work from the same model to guide job-seekers and students to careers in the NEPA Logistics & Transportation Industry.
The NEPA Logistics & Transportation Industry Partnership Career Pathways Model developed for the NEPA Logistics and Transportation Industry Partnership combines a competency approach with a career ladder model. Similar to the arrangement of an organizational chart, Pathways allow for skills and competencies to be grouped by similar functions (or departments) within the company.
NEPA Logistics & Transportation Industry Partnership Career Pathways then goes one step further and indicates the skills and competencies required for each individual occupation. When laid out in its entirety, both the employee and employer have a clear understanding of what is required to move to another occupation – either within the same Pathway, or into a new Pathway.
